At this point this page is dedicated to tips for my new server.

These were bought at Memory Computer :

1. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9

2. CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 939 (1.8 Ghz) and THERMALTAKE TR2 Cooler

3. Memory: OCZ Dual DDR 400 1Gb (512x2)

4. Hard drives:

   • 80Gb Hitachi SATA II

   • 160GB WD SATA II 7200RPM 8MB

5. Case: RAIDMAX X1 400W

6. Optical Drive: NEC x16 DVD-Burner Dual Layer

Still to buy:

1. UPS of some kind: []

2. Vents for Hard Drive

Total money spent: 3545 NIS (~760\$ )

• Alex, Congratulation! have a few questions for you.
• Regarding the DVD Burner, while playing audio or video, is it loud?
• What is the cpu normal temp with cool'n'quiet? (idle)
• Does the cool'n'quiet feature work with dual memory channel?

• What is the memory speed? (can be checked with memtest86)

• What is the general noise level of the new system?

• Motherboard. Try the new K8N51GMF-9 - 510 NIS. it's got integrated graphics, RAID and everything else you need though it does not support Cool'n'Quiet.

• Hard Drive: 160GB SATA II 7200RPM 8MB, WD - 480 NIS, (SATA II)

• Case HEC Compucase CI-6919 400W - 422 NIS, 1.0 mm tin, 2x120 mm fans, washable dust pad. it's not as pretty as the RAIDMAX but you might want to consider it also.
